Red Wakizashi: Design and finishes

This red wakizashi has a 20.47in blade in 1045 steel, with a wave-shaped hamon. The iron guard is round with four small notches and a carved dragon running around the blade. The tsuka, or handle, is made of hardwood and PU white samegawa.

The red wooden scabbard has a thin sageo of the same color, which harmonizes with the saya. The red tsuka-ito, braided in a diamond shape, surrounds an iron menuki. The refined details of the tsuba, the guard and the gilded habaki make this wakizashi a sublime piece. Weighing around 2.205 lb, this wakizashi is easy to handle.
