Black Wakizashi: Design and finishes

This black wakizashi, hand-forged by our artisan swordsmiths, features a 1045 steel blade with a wave-shaped hamon. Blade sharpening is optional. The black-lacquered wooden scabbard is embellished with hand-painted red lines, offering a beautiful combination of colors.

The wooden handle, surrounded by a black tsuka-ito woven into a diamond pattern, and a PU white samegawa highlight the gilded menuki inside. The gold and black chrysanthemum-patterned guard and gilded habaki add detail to this black wakizashi.

With a blade length of 20.47in and an overall length of 30.31in, this wakizashi is both functional and elegant. Its weight of about 2.205 lb gives it excellent balance and maneuverability. The included scabbard makes this collectible ready for exhibition or drawing.
