Hikarimaru Katana Sword: design and finishes
The Hikarimaru Katana sword, meaning “Fairy Tale“, is a Japanese T10 steel sword. Its brilliantly shining blade is available sharpened or unsharpened. The black-lacquered wooden saya is decorated with white mitsu tomoe motifs (3 spiral magatama) symbolizing sun, light and harmony. The tsuka is made from real black ray skin with a diamond-shaped, orange-brown braided ito offering a firm grip. The gilded menuki represents three mitsu tomoe. The golden tsuba, in hammered brass, features a rounded cross with a mitsu tomoe in one corner of the guard. The brass Habaki, engraved with three magatama, completes the set.
