Byakutora katana sword: design and finishes

The Byakutora (白虎) or White Tiger katana sword is one of the four divine creatures in Chinese and Japanese mythology. In tradition, the White Tiger represents brute strength tempered by wisdom, as well as protection against evil forces. This katana captures this spiritual essence through its immaculate aesthetics and symbolic details.

Its T10 steel blade features a natural finish that reveals the raw beauty of forged metal, while the round silver alloy guard (Tsuba) features engravings of animals that pay homage to mythological beasts. The handle (Tsuka) harmoniously combines white faux stingray skin with white diamond-patterned braiding (Tsuka-ITO), creating a firm and elegant grip.
