Yami no Umi Tanto: design and finishes

The hand-forged Yami no Umi Tanto (闇の海) features an intensely bright T10 steel blade, sublimated by an authentic hamon that undulates along its edge. Its guard is elegantly designed with a gold outline and black center. The handle is wrapped in imitation white stingray skin and covered with a Tsuka-ITO braided with a black cord in a diamond pattern. The brass Habaki is meticulously engraved with golden leaf motifs, like its Fuchi. The scabbard, in deep blue wood-grained with black, harmoniously completes this tanto bearing the name “Sea of Darkness” or Yami no Umi (闇の海).
